Valentine’s Day Party Games

Written By: happycamper

Valentine’s Day is a perfect opportunity to bring kids together for a day of fun and friendship! If you’re planning a Valentine’s Day party at camp or school, these engaging games will have everyone laughing, bonding, and celebrating the spirit of kindness and love.

Here are some creative Valentine’s Day party games to make your party unforgettable.

Valentine’s Day Scavenger Hunt

What You’ll Need: Paper hearts with clues or riddles and small Valentine-themed treasures (stickers, candy, or trinkets)

How to Play: Hide the hearts around the area and give kids the first clue. Each clue leads to the next location, with a small treasure at the end. To add a teamwork element, pair kids up to work together to solve the clues.

candy heartsCandy Heart Stack Challenge

What You’ll Need: Conversation heart candies

How to Play: Give each player a pile of hearts and a time limit (e.g., 1 minute). The goal is to stack as many hearts as possible without the stack falling over. The tallest stack wins! Another way to have fun is to build strutures like castles with a time limit. At the end, there can be a vote for the best castle.

Pin the Arrow on the Heart

What You’ll Need: A large paper heart taped to a wall, paper arrows, blindfolds

How to Play: Just like Pin the Tail on the Donkey, blindfold each player, spin them around, and let them try to pin their arrow closest to the center of the heart. Kids will love the silliness and suspense of this classic party game with a Valentine’s twist.

musical heartsMusical Hearts

What You’ll Need: Large paper hearts (you can make these out of construction paper or a recycled item like newspaper or wrapping paper) and a phone or music player with fun Valentine’s Day songs

How to Play: This is just like the classic game of musical chairs, only with hearts instead of chairs. Lay out paper hearts in a circle on the floor, one fewer than the number of players. When the music plays, kids dance around the hearts. When the music stops, they must find a heart to stand on. The player without a heart is out, and one heart is removed each round. Keep going until there’s one winner!

Valentine’s Day party games are a great way to foster camaraderie, creativity, and fun among kids. Happy celebrating! For more Valentines’ Day fun, check out Happy Camper Live’s blog How To Make Valentine’s Day Special For Kids.
