Mother’s Day Breakfast

Written By: Adriana Ramirez

Mother’s Day is the day where we take the opportunity to celebrate all those wonderful mothers, grandmothers, stepmothers, and even parents that are pulling a double duty. We take the day to appreciate them any way we can. This Mother’s Day why not start the celebration off right with making them breakfast in bed!

So, ditch the milk and cereal and get to cooking in the kitchen, here are a few easy recipes that you can try and make for that special someone to feel the love!

Egg-in-a-Hole

This is another easy one you can make and it’s exactly what it sounds like. You’re going to grab your bread and use a small cup or cookie cutter to make a hole in the middle of your bread. Once done you will coat the pan in butter and add your bread and then the egg in the hole. Make sure to cook both sides and voila, you’re done.

Scrambled Eggs

A simple one that is not hard to do, but you may need adult supervision when using the stovetop.

Butter up your pan, crack open some eggs, and fry them up to make delicious, scrambled eggs. You can add in pieces of ham, cheese, or even hot dog pieces to make it the way you want. Don’t forget to toast some bread to serve with your eggs.

Avocado Toast

This one is super easy; you just have two main ingredients. You’re going to mix your avocado, a teaspoon of olive oil, and a pinch of salt and pepper together. Toast your toast and then add your ingredients on top. If you wat to add a little something extra, then add on an egg as a finishing touch.

Breakfast Tacos

What could be better than mixing breakfast and tacos together! You can have your own fun with this but make sure its still edible. Bring out your tortillas and fill them with scrambled eggs, cheese, bacon bits, sausage bits, avocado slices, and some hot sauce to top it off. But make sure to fill the tacos with what your special person will want to eat; you can make some later for yourself.

Yogurt Parfait

This is a healthy option and a quick on the go meal for those hardworking and busy moms. You have three layers and yummy goodness. The bottom layer is filled with frozen fruit. For the middle layer you fill the jar with any type of yogurt you have, and for the top layer add your toppings! You can add oats, granola, honey, chocolate chips, or coconut flakes; just make it your own.

Omelettes

Just like scrambled eggs you’ll need help from an adult to use the stovetop. You can make a meat omelette, veggie omelette, or even a mixture of both.

Whisk two eggs and add a pinch of salt and pepper into your mix. When done, butter your pan and then add in your eggs. Make sure the whole egg mixture is cooked before adding in your filling or before flipping it over. If you have never made an omelette before you will need help flipping it over in the pan as to not make a mess. Once both sides are cooked then it is ready to be served.
