Hello! I recently joined Happy Camper Live and have already chosen several activities. Between homework and sports’ practices I stay pretty busy, but I enjoy trying new things. There’s just not enough time to do all the activities that I wish I could.
Happy Camper Live has been a great way for me to try a bunch of different activities on my own schedule. Sometimes taking a breather between school and everything else I have going on to try something new is just what I need. The best thing about this year-round summer camp is that the activities are available whenever I want.
My experience so far has been nothing but great! Here are the classes I’ve tried so far:
Something I’ve really been wanting to try is water skiing. I have a family reunion coming up at a lake house, so I know there will be an opportunity for me to try it. My cousins live there and are already good at it, so I thought it would be good for me to learn more about how to do it before I go.
There’s a lot that goes into water skiing and getting it right, which I’ve been able to learn from Counselor Adam. Like, keeping your arms straight, keeping your legs bent and keeping your eyes on the boat. Adam also showed me how to wakeboard. This I’ve tried before, but it was hard and I fell a lot! I’ll admit, I probably gave up on it way too soon. Adam gave great tips about how to move between your heels and toes, so I know I will have a lot better luck on my trip.
If you met me, you’d know right away how much I’m up for a challenge. Being with my friends and trying new things is a great way to spend a weekend. When I found the Outdoor Adventure classes, I knew I’d found something I’d really love learning about. The Shelter Building class was so cool! I already convinced my parents to let my brother and me build one in our backyard to sleep in tonight and we have our supplies ready. My mom says I won’t make it an hour out there, but I’m out to prove her wrong!
Something else about me – I’m always up for a good time. I love hanging out with my friends and playing jokes on each other is all part of the fun. Counselor Jason teaches the magic camps. He teacher lots of cool tricks that I can wow my friends with. It’s the perfect thing to learn on a day when you just want to stay inside. I’ve been doing magic for awhile, so I was excited to learn ones I’ve never done before.
I hope you enjoyed learning about a few of my favorite camps. With all of the options, I’m really looking forward to diving in and taking more fun classes at Happy Camper Live. I’m sure I’ll see you around!
