Family activities
With the New Year already started, making New Year’s resolutions can be hard because you want to make sure they are ones you can keep throughout the whole year. So, what kind of things can you stick with? No more soda, less T.V. time, read more books, or eat less candy.
Make sure your goals are attainable and you are able to complete them. If they are too big and are not realistic, then you are setting yourself up to fail.
If you make a goal and are tempted to break it then make a plan to help yourself out. How will you deal with temptation?
Make a list for your resolution and when you think of breaking it refer back to your list. See the positives when you stick to your goal and see the negatives if you were to break it.
Don’t keep your resolution a secret because if no one knows about it then who will keep you accountable for your goals. If no one knows then it may give you an excuse to cheat on it.
Celebrate yourself and your success. Treat yourself to a little something for sticking with your goal.
If your goal has you wanting to reach a specific goal then track the progress. Do you want to improve on your running times, read a lot of books, or improve your athletic skills? Use a journal to track your progress.
Take it one day at a time and don’t overwhelm yourself with so much pressure to be perfect at sticking to your goal.
Believe in yourself!
