Outdoor adventure
Just because the air is crisp and the days are shorter doesn’t mean the fun has to stop! Fall is a perfect season for outdoor play. With colorful leaves, pumpkins, and cozy campfires, there are endless ways to enjoy the outdoors.
Pumpkin Relay RacesSwap out the usual baton for a small pumpkin! Kids can race back and forth carrying their pumpkin, passing it off to teammates, or even rolling it to the finish line. You can play this one all season long.
Make a list of fall treasures—like a red leaf, a pinecone, or a smooth rock—and send kids on an adventure to find them. Bonus points for spotting a squirrel gathering acorns!
Gather around a warm fire, wrap up in blankets, and take turns telling stories. They can be spooky, silly, or all about favorite fall memories.
Leaf Pile ChallengeRake up a giant pile of colorful leaves and let the fun begin! Kids can take turns running and leaping into the pile, or challenge each other to see who can make the biggest splash of leaves.
Set up buckets or baskets at different distances and see who can toss the most acorns in. Make it more fun by assigning each basket a silly action—like hopping on one foot or doing a leaf dance!
These activities are simple, seasonal, and a great way to get kids moving while soaking up the magic of fall. So put on a sweater, head outside, and make the most of the chilly days ahead!
