Family activities
It’s the time of year where you get to spend time with family and reflect on what you’re thankful for in your life. This is a great time to show others how much they mean to you. Take a few minutes and do one of these activities with your mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, or even a neighbor to show them you care.
Write A Card Or NoteGrab the art supplies and get creative! Paint, draw, cut and glue, or use stickers to make a fun card for someone you love. On the inside write some notes about how that person has impacted your life for the better. Let them know how thankful you are to have them in your life. Pop the card in the mail and make someone’s day brighter.
Look for ways to give back to your community. Make lunches and pass them out to those in need. Pick up trash around your neighborhood. Make art projects and take them to a senior center. Help a younger child learn to read. There are so many ways to volunteer in the community. You can also volunteer in your home and do things like wash your parent’s car, take out the trash, or even do the dishes!
Clean out your old toys, books, or clothes that you don’t use anymore and donate them to someone who could use them. Some medical facilities will accept gently used toys for their younger patients to play with. Daycare centers, shelters, and children’s homes are other places you could take your donation to (with the help of your parent). Your well-loved toys could become loved by someone else. It’s a great way to keep your old items out of the landfill while also making another child’s day.
Compliment OthersIt only takes a few nice words to make someone’s day feel a little brighter. Think of things that you like about that person and tell them. You could say, “Your jokes always make me smile!” Or “I love how creative you are.” A compliment is always nice to hear.
The gift of your time is the best gift there is. Life is so busy between school and after-school activities. Take an hour to spend time with someone you love. Maybe your little sister really wants to play a new board game, or your brother wants to go to the park. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to have bonding time during this holiday season. Time is a precious gift. If you’re looking for fun activities to do while spending time with someone, check out Happy Camper Live’s on-demand activities. From cooking to sports, there’s something for everyone!
There is no better gift than the joy of summer camp. A summer at camp has the impact of a lifetime. The Happy Camper Project raises funds and provides programming support to help summer camps and youth programs meet their financial and operational needs and attain their goals to continue to offer their activities to their students, campers, families, and community.
A donation of $25.00 will help send a camp kit to a summer camp with essential camp gear and program supplies.
Make a CAMP KIT of your own! What a fun way to spend the day with your happy camper! Pack up some new or gently used camp supplies and send them to The Happy Camper Project where we will distribute them to deserving camps.

With a little imagination, you […]
