Hi, I’m Courtney from Courtney Studios, your photography counselor at Happy Camper Live. I’m here with Sarah, Lindsey, and Rachel. Today we’re going to experiment with some optical illusions. We’re going to create an image that would appear like one of your friends is a tiny ant, and someone’s foot appears to be a giant foot. Let’s do it.Find a nice place to shoot, and then you will need someone to be the bug, and someone’s bare foot. For the ant photo, we want your friend to appear very small,so they need to be positioned away from the camera. Have your friend pose and curl up like a scared bug. Next, you need the foot to appear large, so it needs to be positioned close to the camera. For this photo, you’ll need to get down really low to the ground. Hold the camera in a vertical position (also known as portrait orientation). From the camera, you’ll need to direct the shot. Tell the person with the foot where to move and hold it to get the right illusion you are trying to create. When everything looks good, snap the photo, and see how it comes out. There are so many things you can do with optical illusion using perspective, so get out there, experiment, have fun and be creative.
