Hi, I’m Matt, your art counselor with Happy Camper Live. Today we’re going to be painting rocks because camp rocks! Today we’re going to paint silly faces on these rocks.Start with a flat rock so that you have enough space to do your face. The first thing you want to paint on your rock is a white base to help all the colors that you eventually paint on your rock come to life. The white base can be pretty thin so that it will dry a lot faster. After the white base, pick a color and paint a top coat right on top of the rock. Once your top coat dries, go in with some white for the eyes and make two really big circles. You can use any color for the eyes you want, but if you want it to look as realistic as possible, go with white. Continue on with the nose and mouth and then what you can do to help it come to life is add a really thin black outline. Next, use black to paint the pupils of the eyes. You can even add a color to go around the pupils like the different colors of people’s eyes. Keep in mind, it might take 2 or 3 coats to really get the color you want out of the eyes or lips. While your paint is still wet, you can go back with some glitter and sprinkle it all over your rock. Since these rocks are so decorative you can put them all over the place, like: Your bunk, a door stop, or just sit it by your bed. Now it’s time for you to go outside, find a rock, and get started!
